What is Periodontics
Periodontics is the study of supporting structures of the tooth. This field includes diseases and conditions that affect them. These conditions can include gingivitis which is a common condition that affects the gums. Symptoms can include bleeding gums and gum regression. It is caused by the buildup of plaque build up around the tooth. This and other more aggressive conditions like periodontal disease can be treated by your doctor and with proper maintenance and regular checkups most periodontal conditions may be reversible if caught in time.
